The pandemic we are currently in, Covid 19 has presented tough times for all businesses but we are hopefully starting to see some light at the end of the tunnel. In this blog, our very own Professional Services Manager Alan McGhee, gives his insight into how he believes businesses need to adapt in order to work in “the new normal”…….
“Times are tough for all businesses right now but hopefully we are beginning to see some light at the end of the tunnel. One of the many things that has become apparent to even the smallest companies, is that the way we run our businesses must change: remote working, shared resources, task tracking and remote collaboration with colleagues and customers. All of these things were eventually going to be the way the world worked, Covid 19 has just accelerated that change.
Perhaps in the past, information management, cloud storage and backup, may have been seen as part of a disaster recovery plan but today they are becoming the normal, day to day way of running a business.
At Document Data Group, we have been working with our customers from the first moments of this crisis. Restructuring their IT systems to facilitate home workers, setting up shared data portals, providing electronic workflows to allow clear visibility of those processes which are normally taken for granted when all staff are sitting in a single office. This new way of working brings many challenges, but we are here to help.
We are offering to help companies in a number of ways, from simple conversations around what is possible and how the solutions out there could benefit your business in particular, to product demonstrations and custom presentations. For most of our systems, we can demonstrate, install, setup and train fully remotely.
Workflows can be set up to handle the movement of information, documents, forms etc to ensure that the correct tasks are completed at the right time by the relevant person. This will provide full visibility and reassurance to managers of staff workloads, even if they are working from home. In situations where data was previously captured in person, this can be automated through web forms tied to automated workflows. The possibilities are almost endless.
